James Harrell

Burlington-James "Jim" William Harrell, age 79 went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 6, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Bernadine "Bernie" Harrell. Jim retired as a purchasing agent after 31 years with AT & T. He was a US Army veteran serving with rank of specialist four. Jim was a longtime member of Grove Park Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. He was a former Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Choir member at Grove Park Baptist for many years. Jim was active in the Gideon's placing Bibles in the hands of many in our community. He was a loving and devoted Christian husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Bernadine "Bernie" Josephine Blische Harrell; daughters, Kim Cain and husband, Dale of Snow Camp and Melanie LaMarr of Burlington; grandchildren, Joy Cain and Christopher LaMarr. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jack Cain; parents, Ernest Graham Harrell and Lois Cato Harrell and a brother, Ernest Graham Harrell, Jr. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Chad Tucker and Rev. Rodger Roach and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. There will not be a visitation. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
