James Clayton

James Wayne Clayton, age 65 of NC Hwy 87 N., died Friday, August 10, 2012 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several weeks of failing health. Born in Caswell County, he was the son of the late James Van Clayton and the late Louise Harrelson Clayton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a graduate of UNC Wilmington University, where he was a member of the golf team. Wayne was the owner and operator of Clayton Electric Motor Repair, Inc. and Diehl-Clayton Equipment Company located in Gatesville, NC. He was of the Methodist faith and was an avid golfer. Mr. Clayton was survived by two sons, Chad Aaron Clayton of Elon and James Watson "Jay" Clayton and his wife, Cynthia, of Burlington; and three grandchildren, Jake Clayton, Tyler Clayton and Haley Clayton. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, August 13, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Nora Driver Foust. The family will receive friends from 12:30 1:45 Monday prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the son, Jay's residence, 3466 Durham St, Burlington.
