James Aupperlee

Burlington-James "Jimmy" Edward Aupperlee, 57, passed away peacefully at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, August 29, 2018. He was born in Passaic County, NJ on April 22, 1961 to the late George and June VanOstenbridge Aupperlee.

James was a resident for over 17 years at Golden Years Assisted Living in Burlington where he was known as "Jimmy". He was employed at Becton Dickinson for 15 years and was known as a "gentle giant" standing at 7'2" tall. He was a big fan and a resident expert of many things including NASCAR, Professional Wrestling and MLB. James enjoyed assembling model cars, attending many Minor League Baseball games and was a great historian. His character was as great as his stature as he never met a stranger. James will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He leaves behind his brother, George Aupperlee and many friends at both Golden Years and BD.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Carolina Christian Church by Pastor Mark Mitchell with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
