Jae Shin

Grandmaster of the martial arts, Jae C. Shin born December 20, 1936 passed away on July 9th at 9:43 a.m. in Burlington, NC. Mr. Shin was president and CEO of the World Tang Soo Do Association, a premier global martial arts organization. A grand opening for the Association's new headquarters will be held along with a memorial service at the new HQ site in Burlington 2436 W. Hanford Road on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at 12pm. The memorial service is open to the public. Mr. Shin came to this country from Korea in 1968, the same year he was placed on the list of the top Twentieth Century Warriors by Black Belt Magazine. Coincidentally, his first studio was located in Burlington, NJ. In 1982 he founded the World Tang Soo Do Association, which has grown to a membership of 160, 000 plus members from around the globe, in 34 different countries. A funeral service will be held this Saturday at Trinity Worship Center 3157 South Church Street, Burlington, NC. Family and friends from around the world will attend. Grandmaster Shin was 75 years old. He is survived by his wife Sue, his son Robert Shin, and his daughter Catherine Shin.
