Graham - Jacqueline “Jackie” Anne Brown Terrell, 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday February 27, 2022 after a long hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born in Alamance County on April 23, 1942 to the late Jack Maxwell Brown and Virginia White Brown, and was the wife to the late Richard Earl Terrell of 57 years who died in June of 2020.
Jackie graduated from Walter M. Williams High School in 1960 and Burlington Business College in 1961. She worked with Byrd’s Food Stores in the accounting department for 24 years. She was a devoted member of Faith Christian Church. Her unwavering faith sustained her throughout her life and when she received a cancer diagnosis back in November of 2020 she never said “why me” she instead leaned on her Savior to see her through.
Jackie loved being in the kitchen and shared her baked goods with family, friends and just about anyone she came into contact with. One of her favorite places to be was the beach. She enjoyed trips to Kure Beach and Topsail Island with family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter, Wendy Terrell Swank and husband, Steve; grandchildren, Elin Richard Swank and fiancé Jennie Flowers, Emerson Taylor Swank and Ava Catherine Swank; a brother, David Brown and wife Tammy; sisters, Dee Gray, Gayle Fogleman and husband Don, Sue Fowler and husband Winston and Kaye Adams; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Jackie was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Richard Brent Terrell and brothers-in-law, Sonny Gray and Bill Adams.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30am Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Faith Christian Church by Rev. Reid Dickens with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10am to 11:15am Saturday prior to the service at the church.
