Jacob Harvey, Sr.

Mr. Jacob Long Harvey, Sr., age 88, of Graham, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Peak Resources after several months of declining health.
Born in Lexington, NC, he was the son of the late Fred Thomas Harvey and the late Margaret Ross Harvey and was married to the late Sophie Anne McGuire Harvey, who passed in 2010. Jake was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was retired from Western-Electric and was a member of Christian Bible Fellowship. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Mr. Harvey is survived by his daughter, Harriette Garrison and her husband, Mike, of Graham; his son, Jacob L. Harvey, Jr. and his wife, Carla, of Charlston, SC; six grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Paterniti, Justin (Melissa) Harvey, Ashley Abee, Caleb Garrison, Sonja Snyder and Stephanie Snyder; four great grandchildren; and two brothers, Carl Harvey and Fred Harvey. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two infant children; and two brothers, William "Bill" Harvey and Charles Harvey.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Bruce Readling and Pastor Randy Kidd. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the daughter's residence.
