Burlington-Jackie Noble Caldwell, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. He was a native of Alamance County and the husband of 55 years to Eva Thompson Caldwell who survives.
Jackie was of the Baptist faith. He was the owner and operator of Caldwell Masonry for over 40 years. Jackie graduated from Elon High School where he was a standout "South Paw" baseball pitcher receiving pro offers from several major league scouts. He chose instead to stay near home and raise a family. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing and was an active member of the Pleasant Grove Hunting Club. Jackie especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchild.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Thompson Caldwell of the home; daughters, Mitzi Bullard and husband, Don and Kelly Rivers and husband, Robbie; son, Jackie Noble "Chad" Caldwell,II and wife, Kim; grandchildren, Amber Jolly and husband, Scott, Spencer Rivers and Kinsley Caldwell; great grandchild, Hayden Jolly; brother, Jerry Caldwell and a sister, Mary Anne Servoss. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Dixon and Nancy Elizabeth Noble Caldwell.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Glen Raven Baptist Church by Pastor Bobby Fann. The burial will follow at McCray Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
