Jack Edward Estes, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at his home. He was the son of the late Cling Laburn Estes and Julia Mae Justice Estes and was married for over 61 years to Audrey Virginia Guthrie Estes who passed away in 2015.
Jack proudly served in the 82nd Airborne Division - Army during the Korean War. He then went on to retire from Lucent Technologies (AT&T) as a production controller. He was a faithful member of Belmont Baptist Church. Jack enjoyed going on fishing trips, especially flounder gigging. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Jack is survived by his children; Michael E. Estes (Phyllis) and Jeffrey L. Estes (Natalie); grandchildren, Chris Estes, Nick Estes (Leslie), Heidi Solomon (James), Alicia Massey (Caleb), Chandler Estes, Dillon Mansfield and Hannah Mansfield; great grandchildren, Bryce Estes, Lily Hamlett, Brooklyn Mann, Nolan Causey and Gabriel Massey; sister, Ruth Dobson Hamlett and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; son, Tony A. Estes; brothers, Clyde Estes, Luke Estes, Grady Estes and Harry Estes; sisters, Pawnee Park, Elbie Dry, Mable Johnson and Magline Eatman. The Estes family would like to thank all the caregivers, Karen Patterson, Mary Petty and Sheila Dixon.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Belmont Baptist Church by Rev. Nathaniel Hobbs with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 5PM-7PM on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
