Burlington-Jack Zennie Collins, 90, of Burlington, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at ARMC surrounded by his family. A native of Onslow County, he had been a resident of Burlington for 64 years. He was the husband of Faye P. Collins for 62 years, who survives and the son of the late Jackson Zennie Collins and Flossie Ellis Collins.
Jack retired from Kayser-Roth Corporation where he was Corporate Manager of Manufacturing and Cost Accounting. He was a graduate of Mars Hill College and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Jack served on active duty with the US Naval Reserve during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington where he was a member of the Harry Willis Bible Class, a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the JOY Group and served on various committees.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Faye P. Collins; three sons, Edwin Collins, Stephen Collins and wife, Anita and Philip Collins and wife, Grace; one daughter, Ellen Myers and husband, Mark; six grandchildren, Jaclyn Myers Hughes and husband, Matt, Ross Myers, Claire Collins, Sam Collins, Lucy and Julia Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lucy C. Venters and Jean C. Trott and one brother, Daryl Collins,
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be conducted at First Baptist Church of Burlington on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 2:00 PM by Dr. Terry E. Peel and US Naval honors will follow at the conclusion of the service. The family will receive friends following the service at the church Gathering Place. A private burial will be held at Alamance Memorial Park prior to the service.
