Burlington Ivey Drye Estes, 94, of 3570 Maple Ave, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the Hospice Home. She was a native of Lando, SC, the daughter of the late Henry Colen Drye and Ada Cordell Knight Drye and the wife of the late Grady Willis Estes. A member of Staley Memorial Baptist Church, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who took great enjoyment in baking, sewing and making crafts. When you were at her home she always had a pot of coffee or sweet treats to offer and was such a special lady providing the best of care for her loved ones. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Simmons of Davidsonville, MD, Mildred Price of Burlington and Vickie Walker and husband Tom of Graham; sons, Harold R. Estes and wife Bonnie of Richmond, VA, Grady Gene Estes and wife Pam of Richmond, VA and Robert Bobby Estes and wife Diane of North East MD; twenty grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and eleven great great grandchildren; sister, Cordell Huffman of Anderson, SC and sister in-law, Nana C. Drye of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two grandchildren, a sister, Iler Sisk and brothers, Fred Drye and John Marshall Drye. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bennie Smith, Rodney Staley and Dr. Tommy Willis. Burial will follow at Belmont Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home and at other times at the homes of her daughters, Mildred Price, 2217 Race Track Rd., Burlington and Vickie Walker, 3336 Rogers Rd., Graham.
