Isabell Murray

Burlington - Isabell Mabe Moody Murray, 88, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on March 15, 1930 in Rockingham County to the late Raleigh Wright Mabe and Lilly Mae Glidewell Mabe and was married to the late Frank William Murray, Sr. who died in 2003.

Isabell retired from Burlington Industries, Pioneer Plant after 25 years of service. She was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church; she enjoyed puzzles, reading and crocheting.

She is survived by her children, Martha Ann Guffey, Michael Lynn Reid and wife, Ellen, Harold "Pete" Reid and wife, Phyllis, Ronnie Lee Reid and wife, Cindy, Jimmy Lee Moody and wife, Melissa; step children, Frank "Butch" Murray, Jr., Donna Baxter and Vickie Coe; 23 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and many more great great grandchildren and a sister, Barbara Dean Boone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a daughter, Ruby Reid Winn, a grandson, Jeff Bates, a step daughter, Patricia Simmons, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Randy Hobbs with the burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Monday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
