Iris Witt

Iris Virginia Williams Witt, 89, of 2424 Wimbledon Circle passed away Friday May 16, 2008 at the Hospice Home. She was married to the late Charles Ovid Witt for 26 years. Iris was born Dec. 1, 1918 in Oakvale, West Virginia to the late Henry Thomas and Viola Tiller Williams. She retired from State Farm Insurance Company after 40 years of service and was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church. Survivors include her son Charles "Chuck" Witt and his wife Brenda of Burlington, granddaughters; Julie Witt-Bogart and her husband Jason, Karen Denise Witt, Patricia Lynn Witt, a great grandson Jordan Phillip Bogart and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a great granddaughter Jenna Peyton Bogart, sisters; Pauline Bailet, Ruby Effler and a brother Percy Williams.. The funeral will be held 11:00 AM Monday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Eugene Hunsinger. The family will receive friends 9:45 10:45 prior to the service and at other times at the home of a granddaughter Julie Witt-Bogart, 1861 Buxton Way, Burlington.
