Burlington-Irene Kincer Williams, 92 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Hospice Home. She was a native of Wythe County Virginia and the wife of the late Carl W. Williams.
Irene retired from Pickett Hosiery in Burlington. She was a longtime member of People’s Memorial Christian Church. Irene enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and word searches. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Cates of Burlington; granddaughter, Jodie Jacobs and husband Doug of Graham; great granddaughter, Megan Jacobs of Orlando, Florida; son-in-law, Doug Spoon of Burlington; sisters, Juanita “Little Shorty” Kincer, Evelyn Bradshaw and Pearl Isley all of Burlington, Helen Grubb of Danville, Virginia; brother, Randall Kincer and wife, Reba of Rural Retreat, Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Jane Spoon; parents, Fred Gilbert and Lethia Mae Flannagan Kincer; brothers, June, Eugene and Ed Kincer.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 11:00am at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. David Grinnell. The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Monday at the funeral home and other times at the granddaughter’s home.
