Ida Mae Alderman Dodd, 86, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the home of her daughter Debbie and Coy May. She was born on October 6, 1932 in Sampson County to the late Walter Amos Alderman and Maggie Cox Alderman and was the wife of 46 years to the late Claude Winfred Dodd.

Ida Mae retired from Stadler Country Hams and Engineered Controls International. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all. She was known for her smile and sweet spirit.

Survivors include her daughters, Debbie May (Coy) and Angela Hill (Ronnie); grandchildren, Nikki Haith (Charles), Hannah Hill and Tiffany Hill; sisters, Edna May (Kenneth) and Patricia Hicks; brother, Charles Alderman (Clara) and Frank Alderman (Judy). Ida Mae was preceded in death by her husband, parents; son, Jeff Dodd; grandson, Justin Clifton; sisters, Nancy Garland, Reva Kennedy, Doris Starling and Geraldine Simmons.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00am Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ricky Cox with the burial to follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm-8:00pm Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave, Greensboro, NC 27405.
