Hugh B. Webster

Hugh B. Webster, age 78, passed away Friday March 4, 2022 at the Hospice Home in Burlington.  He was born on August 6, 1943 in Caswell County, the youngest of four children to the late Kathleen H. Webster and Leagrand Webster.

Hugh recently retired as Register of Deeds of Alamance County; prior to that he served 12 years in the NC State Senate; he had a former tax practice in Yanceyville for several years, and had worked as a Certified Public Accountant both in the US and abroad in Puerto Rico, Germany and in South Africa.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Webster; sons, LeGrand Webster and Noel Webster-Ramey; grandchildren, Ronan Webster-Ramey and Abigail Webster Aguas; sister, Geraldine Fuqua; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Dr. Thomas Webster of Providence, NC and a sister, Magdalene Shelton of Yanceyville, NC.

The celebration service will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Union United Methodist Church in Leasburg.  The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
