- Hoyle Baxter Roberts, 67, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Moses Cone Hospital. He was born December 13, 1949 in Gastonia to the late James Baxter and Callie Biddix Roberts. He was the former owner of Hoyle's Towing and Recovery. Hoyle was a member of The Lamb's Chapel. He had a passion for pickleball and was an avid player. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing cards and watching movies.
He is survived by his daughters, April (Josh) Robertson, Ashley Roberts and fiancé, Gary, and Anita Sutton; grandchildren, Garrett Roberts, Sawyer Robertson, Christian Corley and Natalie Sutton; sisters, Debbie (Jimmy) Hillard and Faye Roberts; girlfriend, Debbie Stover and dear friend, Ron Lawson. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother, Doyle Roberts, Sr. and brother-in-law, Rev. Doug Roberts.
A service to celebrate his life will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bill Gillispie. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:45 Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to The Lamb's Chapel, Haw River, NC.
