Hoyle Hundley

Hoyle Morgan Hundley, age 83 is 100% today. He went to be with his Lord of Lords, King of Kings, the Great I Am on Monday, May 26, 2014 surrounded by his family whom he loved very dearly. He was born in Greensboro to the late Tony Morgan and Jettie Shumate Hundley. Hoyle had a lot of love for his Heavenly Father. He was an active member of Burlington Assembly of God for 57 years. His active duties were, The Caring Kitchen, member of the Golden Touch, prison ministries, leader of visitation, Deacon, Sunday School teacher and working with the CA Youth Group. He was a master gardener and took great pride in his gardens, He enjoyed horseshoes, softball and checkers. He also loved taking his children fishing, skating and on beach trips. He donated blood as often as he could. He retired from Cone Mills in Haw River after 41 years of service. He was a good provider and was a spiritual example for his family. Hoyle is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean Overbey Hundley; daughters, Kathy Nash and husband Mike of Grove, OK, Debra Melton and husband Tommy of Haw River, Gale Barnhardt and husband Richard of Burlington, Sherry Willard and husband David of Burlington; sons, Steve Hundley and wife Twilla of Reidsville and Tony Hundley of Burlington; 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; sisters, Romaner Cates and Dorothy Paschal; brother, Jack Hundley; sister-in-law Elizabeth Hundley. He was preceded in death by his parents; step mother, Margaret Hundley; sister, Louise Eastwood; brother Clarence Hundley and William Hundley. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, May 29. 2014 at Burlington Assembly of God by Rev. Bryan Rainbow and Rev. Howard Thompson. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Mr. Hundley will remain at Lowe Funeral Home until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home for 6-8pm Wednesday and other times at their home.
