Burlington-Hoy Gilmer “Chubby” Greeson, 92 went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 4, 2019. He was the husband of 70 years to Lorene Clapp Greeson who survives.
Hoy retired after 40 years with Davidson’s in Greensboro. He was a member of Mt. Hope United Church of Christ and a founding member of the Mt. Hope UCC Softball field. He enjoyed playing on the church softball team and going to NASCAR races. Hoy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene Clapp Greeson of the home; sons, Aubrey Dean Greeson and wife, Peggy of Whitsett and Jerry Lee Greeson of the home; granddaughter, Amy Renee Greeson and special friend, Brandon Jones of Greensboro; great grandchildren, Noah and Ashlynn Greeson and Kendal Jones., He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Gilmer and Susan Harriet Andrews Greeson and three brothers and three sisters.
A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 11:00 am at Mt. Hope UCC cemetery by Rev. Kristin Gerner Vaughn and assisted by Rev. Gary Owens. The family will be at the home of Dean Greeson at other times.
