Howard Amick

Howard Lee Amick, age 63, died on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Duke University Hospital following a very short illness. He was a native of Guilford County, the son of the late Taft Gilmer and Hazel Gerner Amick and a Cattleman by trade. Survivors include a very special friend, Vanessa Wolfe of Julian, daughters, Amy Mike Coble of Julian and Angie Larry Dalrymple of Richlands, NC; son, Isaac Amick of Julian; step son, Johnny Burrows of Greensboro; grandchildren, Amanda Amick, Jessie Amick and Justin Lee Dalrymple; sister, Dora Moore of Whitsett; brother, Larry Amick of Julian; numerous very special cousins nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 11:00 A. M. at the Mt. Hope United Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 P. M. at Lowe Funeral Home in Burlington and at other times at the home of the sister, Dora Moore, 1936 Rock Creek Dairy Road, Whitsett.
