Hilda Ward Holbrook

Hilda Ward Holbrook, 78, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.  She was born on September 7, 1941 in Alamance County to the late Woodrow Wilbert Ward and Mildred Lucas Ward and was married to the late Branch Holbook.

Hilda retired from Walmart as a greeter and was a former employee with Sue-Lynn Textiles.  She enjoyed spending time at the beach, arts, crafts, singing, a former Den Mother and she attended Victory Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Danny Ashley; a daughter, Tina Ashley; brother, Arnold Ward and wife, Joyce; sister, Sandra Williams; special aunt, Lena Terrell, numerous nieces and nephews; and her extended family the Holbrook’s and the Rigg’s.  Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers, Donald Ward and Ronald Wayne Ward.

The celebration service will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Victory Baptist Church by Rev. Harold Profitt and Rev. Todd Foster.  The graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday at Alamance Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 7pm Monday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
