Henry Davis Jones, Jr.

Henry Davis Jones, Jr., 80, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born on April 11, 1940 in Guilford County to the late Henry Davis Jones, Sr. and Minnie Wade Jones, and was the husband of 55 years to Linda Huffman Jones who survives.

Henry retired from the Guilford County Sheriff’s Department, the Guilford County Prison Farm and was a farmer throughout his life.  He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where he was an usher, choir member and was in the Welcome Bible Class.

Survivors other than his wife, Linda include his son, Anthony Jones and wife, Kellie; a daughter, Tracy Jones; granddaughters, Morgan Lyn Jones and Maddie Paige Jones; brothers, Joe Jones and friend Melody Pagett, and Clinton Jones and friend Rena Joyce; sisters, Lou J. Sharpe and Peggy Satterfield-Ward and husband, Bill; numerous nieces and nephews.  Henry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Melvin Jones.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Randy Hobbs with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 10:30am to 12:30pm Tuesday prior to the service at the church.
