Henry William Frenke, 85, passed away Saturday at his home with his devoted wife, daughter, grandson Robert & wife Tabitha by his side. Henry was born October 2, 1928 in Hanover, Germany to the late Karl and Marie Muller Frenke. He and his wife, Helen Bohlen Frenke were married for sixty-three years. Henry served in the National Guard during the Korean War and began his career as a bench jeweler with Crystal Jewelers of NY; he later went on to work for David Webb, New York. After putting himself through college during the evening while providing for his family during the day he became a successful engineer. He retired from Grumman Aerospace of Bethpage, NY after 38 years of service. As a Mason, he volunteered at the The George Washington Masonic National Memorial during retirement. When able, he was always an active member of his local parish. He was a very talented bench jeweler and enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include his wife of the home, daughter Karen E. Frenke of Mebane, sons: Erick Frenke of Fresh Meadows, NY; Craig Frenke of Deposit, NY; David Frenke and wife Roxanne of Slatington, PA; fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Herbert Frenke. The service to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Macedonia Lutheran Church by Rev. Suzanne Shoffner. The family will receive friends with a reception following the service.
