Hellen Groves

Hellen Creech Fitch Groves passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Hospice Home. She was born December 26, 1921 in Selma, NC to the late Claude Carl and Lucille Creech Fitch and she was married to the late Belmer Ernest Groves. Hellen was a member of Burlington Assembly of God, volunteered at the Caring Kitchen and was a member of The Kiwanis Club. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Survivors include her daughter Edna Culler and husband Wayne of Haw River, sons; Belmer Groves and wife Dorothy of Lady Lake, FL, Harold C. Groves and wife Vonda of Tampa, FL, grandchildren; Patricia Stanish , Rolly Groves, Michael Gregory, Chris Gregory, Timothy Gregory, great grandchildren; Victoria Gonzalez-Bustos, Autumn Ortiz, Cody Groves, Makayla Gregory, Braydon Gregory, Jenny Bailey and Liam Gregory. She is also survived by her brothers; Carl Fitch of Graham and Jasper Fitch and wife Ethelyn of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a grandson John David Gregory and a brother Douglas Fitch. The funeral will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Burlington Assembly of God by Pastor Bryan Rainbow and Pastor Howard Thompson. Entombment will follow at the Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and at other times at the home of her daughter. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
