Gibsonville - Helen Wagoner, 81, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Wesley Long Hospital. Born in Ontario, Canada on March 16, 1931 to the late William and Edna McKnight Barnett, she was the wife of 57 years to John Bryan Wagoner of the home. Helen was a lifelong member of Friedens Lutheran Church in Gibsonville, was a volunteer at the former Alamance Memorial Hospital. She was the co-founder of Wagoner Christmas Trees and a member of the NC Christmas Tree Association. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Helen is survived by her husband of the home; sons, Bruce Wagoner and wife Mandi and Bryan Wagoner and wife Michele, both of Greensboro; daughter, Dr. Lynne Wagoner and husband Victor Walton of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, John Hunter, Bryce, Jake, Ethan and Emma Wagoner and Emily, Caroline and Victoria Walton; sister, Elaine Robertson of Halifax, Nova Scotia and brother-in-law, Rolly Brenning of Ottawa, Canada. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Brenning and brother, Mac Barnett. The funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, September 28, 2012 at Friedens Lutheran Church by Pastor Bill Zima. There will be a private burial for the family. Visitation will be held 6-8PM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory at 2205 South Church St., Burlington, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friedens Lutheran Church, 6001 NC Hwy 61, Gibsonville, NC 27249 or to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
