Gibsonville- Mrs. Helen Fryar Summers, 84, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2007 at Hospice Home. Mrs. Summers was born April 5, 1923 in Guilford, County to the late Floyd and Mary Ketchie Fryar. She was married to the late Roy Garland Summers who preceded her in March of 2006. Mrs. Summers was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the church choir. Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Lynn Summers of Stoney Creek, and Gayle Honeycutt of Greensboro; a son, Rodney Summers and his wife Tammi of Elon; two granddaughters, Tanner and Laci Summers; a sister, Doris Mutt F. Hayes of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Friedens Lutheran Church by Rev. Delbert Chilton and Rev. Raymond Petrea. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the sons home, 7152 Summerdale, Rd. Elon. The family would like to thank Alamance Regional Medical Center, Liberty Commons, Hospice Home, Kernodle Clinic, and Hospice of Alamance-Caswell for the care that was given to Mrs. Summers during her illness. Memorials can be made to Friedens Lutheran Church Kitchen Fund, 6001 N NC 61 Hwy, Gibsonville, NC 27249 or to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215.
