Helen Slade

Helen Potts Slade, 87, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 31, 1931 in Durham County to the late James Hardy Potts and Luvana Chandler Potts and was the wife to the late Wallace Holt Slade for 60 years. Helen retired from Seaboard Underwriters and was a longtime member of Glen Hope Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Helen is survived by her loving children, Freddie Slade (Betty) and Tina Blackwell (Jeff); grandchildren, Kim Strickland, Jason Slade, Jeremy Blackwell, Christopher Blackwell and Kaitlyn Blackwell; great grandchildren, Matthew May, Meredith Murray, Karlee Strickland, Elizabeth Slade, Patrick Slade and Karaline Blackwell; She was preceded in death by her husband, parents;sister, Mildred Potts Gibson

The funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Friday, January 4, 2019 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bob Stephenson with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 1:30pm-2:45pm Friday prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd, Burlington, NC 27215.
