Burlington, NC Mrs. Helen Yarborough Festa, 83, of 2914 Amherst Avenue, died Friday, September 14, 2007, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of Salvatore A. Festa who survives. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Buron and Annie Ray Yarborough. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three daughters, Anita McCraven Bill Davis of Burlington, Donna Festa Pat Guffee of Greensboro, and Carmella Festa of Burlington; three grandchildren Brenton D. Shannon McCraven, Ingrid M Greg Shatterly, and Martin McCraven; a brother, Dr. L. G. Margaret Yarborough of Shelby. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Ragazzo Festa; brother, Jack Yarborough and her Chinese Pug, Mr. Bojangles. Mr. & Mrs. Festa met the first week of school at Elon College in 1940 and were married for almost 60 years. Mrs. Festa was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the Altar Society and was a Red Cross Nurses Aid during WWII. She retired as an Executive Secretary at First State Bank and had previously worked as an Executive Secretary for NCNB, Security National and Bank of America. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 17 at 10AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Very Rev. Robert Benko, OFM Conv., V.F. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM on Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, with a Prayer Service at 7:30 PM. At other times the family will be at the residence.
