Hazel Wright

Burlington - Hazel Alice Payne Wright, 80, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Alamance County on December 25, 1937 to the late Currie and Edna Johnson Payne and was the wife of 61 years to Joseph "J.B." Wright who survives.

Hazel was a homemaker and a member of Bellemont United Methodist Church. In her earlier years she worked at Kayser-Roth and at Staley Hosiery. Hazel and her husband, J.B. formerly worked together with Window Treatment Installation for several local contractors.

Survivors other than her husband, J.B. Wright include a daughter, Lisa Wright Lightcap and husband, Jeff; her beloved canine, "Niki" and her numerous four legged grandchildren and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, William Howard Payne and an infant sister.

The funeral service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Farron Duncan with the burial to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the daughter, Lisa's home. The family would like for everyone attending the visitation and the service to wear your casual attire, because that's what Hazel would have wanted.
