Hazel Parker Tapp, 87, died Tuesday July 24, 2012 at Liberty Commons Nursing Center. Born in Danville VA, she was the daughter of the late John Allen Parker and Mary Jane Owen Parker. She was married 40 years to the late Floyd F. Tapp. She and her husband were Charter members of Faith Bible Chapel. Hazel worked at the Kayser-Roth I-85 Plant for 23 years and 11 years at the Glen Raven Hosiery Plant in Altamahaw. She is survived by her son, Michael Matthew of Sylva; daughter, Patricia Buckner of Burlington; step sons, Clinton Tapp of Burlington and Donald Tapp of Efland; sister, Thelma Hines of Danville, VA; sister-in-law, Ethel Parker of Danville, VA; several grandchildren, a great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters. The funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mark W. Robertson with the burial to follow at Chestnut Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery in Efland, NC. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday at the funeral home.
