Hazel Warren Rudd, 88, formerly of Albany St. passed away Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Hospice Home following 2 months of critical illness. A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of the late Emery Warren Rudd, and the daughter of the late Floyd Doak Warren and Mabel Murphy Warren. She was a faithful employee in the hosiery industry having worked at Burlington Industries, Leath Hosiery and Tower Hosiery until her retirement at age 80. She was a lifetime member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. She was a loving, devoted mother and is survived by two daughters, Mrs. June Durham and husband Bob of Burlington, and Mrs. Lorie Barker and husband Greg of Mebane; also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Dewitt Doris Loy of Burlington; five grandsons, Chris Durham wife Lynn, Craig Durham wife Sherry, Emerson Barker, Layton Barker and Gibson Barker; and five great grandchildren, She was preceded in death by five brothers, Robert Warren, Ralph Warren, Morris Warren, Ray Warren and Edwin "Red" Warren; and three sisters, Eleanor Kimbrough, Musette Loy and Ida Grace Pulliam. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Neal Salter with interment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 2:45 Sunday prior to the service. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation for the loving, professional care provided by Hospice and Palliative Care Center.
