Gibsonville-Hazel Louise Grissom, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 2, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Henderson to the late Eugene and Susie Mathews Grissom.
Hazel was a homemaker and member of Gibsonville Christian Church. She enjoyed working puzzles and playing cards. Hazel enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Billy Grissom and wife, Cindy of Haw River; niece, Alice Jernigan and husband, Richard; nephews, Rev. William Baker and wife, Vickie, Tommy Baker and wife, Carolyn and Alex “Junior” Baker, Jr. and numerous other loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Frances G. Baker, Elsie Garner and Mary Lee Collins.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice nurses and staff for their kind and compassionate care for Hazel over the past several months.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, August 5, 2019 at Gibsonville Christian Church by Rev. William H. Baker and the burial will follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45PM on Monday prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
