Hazel Clawson

Hazel Gleda Hosler Clawson, 101, of 1500 Von Bora Ct. passed away a Monday, October 30, 2006 at her home. She was the wife of the late Charles Clawson and the daughter of the late Edmond A. and Josephine Gilmour Hosler. Hazel graduated from Iowa State College, a former home economics teacher and a community volunteer for many years. She was the Oustanding Elderly Presbyterian of Synod of Lakes and Prairies and voted Mother of the Year in Ackley, IA. She volunteered in Mexico for twenty-five years. Survivors include her daughters, Dr. Barbara Nelle Clawson of the home, Virginia Achtermann of Columbus, OH, two grandchildren, Jean Culbertson, Jeffrey Achtermann and three great grandchildren Garrett Culbertson, Grant Culbertson and Emily Achtermann. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters and two brothers. There will be a celebration of her life 2:00 PM Saturday , November 4, 2006 in the Gathering Place at Twin Lakes Center in Burlington. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Creation Presbyterian Church, 501 S.
