Harvey Dean

Harvey Clayton "Slick" Dean, 81, passed away Sunday August 1, 2010 at White Oak Manor. He was the husband of Colleen Smith Dean and was born April 16, 1929 in Orange County to the late Lennie and Decie Wright Dean. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, was a graduate of Burlington Business College and Chef School in France. Slick was also a member of the American Legion and a avid fisherman. Survivors include his wife of the home, daughters; Lisa Montes and her husband Daniel of Burlington, Kim Carson and her husband Dean of Haw River, grandchildren; Kristy Carson, Terri Carson and two sisters Thelma Cheek, Ruth Thompson both of Burlington, beloved nieces Marilyn Terrell and Wendy Keck. There will be a celebration of Slick's life Wednesday, August 4, 2010, 6:30 PM at Lisa Montes House, 267 Stainback Rd., Burlington.
