High Point, NC Harvey Lee Cook, age 74, of Chester Woods Court went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 23, 2009 at High Point Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Guilford County and the husband of 55 years to Marcell Randleman Cook who survives. Harvey retired from Burlington Industries, Williamsburg Plant after many years. He was a member of the Gibsonville Evangelical Methodist Church where he served as a former Usher and Steward. Harvey was an avid gardener growing a variety of vegetables in his garden. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Doris Marcell Randleman Cook of the home; daughter, Donna Cook Long and her husband, Tommy of High Point; granddaughter, Tiffany Hall and her husband, Joe of High Point; great granddaughters, Katelyn and Elizabeth Hall both of High Point; sister, Louise Arnold of Burlington; and his pets, "Boo Boo" and "Duke". He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert David Cook and Dora Savannah Brown Cook; sister, Gladys Rigney and brothers, Albert, Shelton, Clay and Herman Cook and three infant brothers. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gibsonville Evangelical Methodist Church by Rev. Paul Speagle and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
