Harvey Banther

Burlington, NC Harvey LeRoy Banther, Sr., age 80 of Burlington went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 28, 2008. He was born on March 22, 1928 in Durham, NC to the late Dillard Weldon and Mary Inez Hawkins Banther. Harvey was a veteran serving his country in the US Army Air Force as a weatherman. He was a diesel mechanic and long distance truck driver owning two businesses during his lifetime. Harvey was a former Sunday School teacher and a loving father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Harvey is survived by his wife of 56 years, Wanda Dixon Banther of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Harvey L. Banther, Jr. and his wife, Tammy of Wallberg, NC; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Mitchell and her husband, Bill and Lisa Moore and her husband, Joe all of Liberty; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sister, Vivian Mitchell of Pleasant Grove. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Willard Banther; parents, 2 sisters and a brother. The Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ricky Eller and the burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by the US Air Force. The family will receive friends from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at 5007 Liberty Grove Road, Liberty, NC 27298.
