Harry Reinheimer

Elon, NC Harry Joseph Reinheimer, 85, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at his home. He was the husband of 53 years to Mary Louise Hill Reinheimer who survives. Harry retired from IBM after 42 years of service as a graduate engineer and was the Designer on the First IBM mainframe. After retirement he was an adjunct professor at Syracuse University. Harry was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a 4th degree Knights of Columbus. He also sang in the Knights of Columbus Chorale and was involved in Barbershop Quartets for many years. Harry was a veteran of the US Navy during WW II and a graduate of Syracuse University where he received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees. Harry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise Hill Reinheimer of the home; daughters, Margaret Mary Baffa and husband, Richard of Cambridge, England, Ann Elizabeth Butler and husband, Scott of Burlington; sons, Thomas Jude Reinheimer of Germantown, MD, Edward Anthony Reinheimer of Myrtle Beach, SC, Stephen Francis Reinheimer of Wilmington and Susan Sidden Reinheimer of Elon, Richard Rexford Reinheimer and wife, Joan of Stevensville, MD, Henry James Reinheimer of Winchester, VA and Paul Joseph Reinheimer and wife, Allison of Reston, VA; 25 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and numerious nieces and nephews; sister, Joan Marie Dirac of Hyannis, MA. He also leaves behind his pet companions, "Cookie" and "BB"; He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Joseph Reinheimer and Alice Mary McCourt Reinheimer and his daughter-in-law, Kim Reinheimer. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 11:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Rev. Paul Gabriel OFM Conv. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am prior to the service at the church and other times at the residence.
