Harry Mabe, Jr.

Linden, NC - Harry Roosevelt "Peanut" Mabe, Jr., 55, formerly of Burlington, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Greensboro. He was born in Alamance County on June 26, 1962 to the late Harry Roosevelt Mabe, Sr. and Margaret Poole Mabe and was married to Lisha Wright Mabe.

Peanut was employed with Time Warner Cable. He enjoyed going to the fields on the weekends, spending time with his dogs, sitting on the front porch talking and drinking his coffee and visiting with family and friends. Peanut enjoyed vacationing at the beach and the mountains; he never missed an episode of Gunsmoke and enjoyed watching Dog the Bounty Hunter and other crime related shows.

Survivors other than his wife, Lisha Mabe include his sons, Justin R. Mabe and wife, Megan, Corey Dylan Mabe; sisters, Marie Heath and husband, John, Sr., Wanda Shiflett and husband, Terry; nephew, John Heath, Jr. and wife, Angela; nieces, Shelby Andrews and husband, Kenneth, Crystal Somers and husband, Trey, and Michele Mabe; 12 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Brenda Kay Mabe.

The celebration service will be held at 4:00pm Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel, the family will receive friends following the service.
