Harold Sauls

Harold Watson Sauls, 89, of Elon passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at the Hospice Home. He was born in Durham County and was the son of the late William Robert Sauls and Lena Ellen Goodwin Sauls. He retired from Matkins Glass after 30 years of service and was a member of the Burlington Moose Lodge. Harold was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII serving in the Blue Angel Squadron on the USS Lexington. He is survived by his sister, Wanda Sauls Barker of Elon; brother, Robert Earl Lucille Sauls of Independence, MO and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Willie Gene Sauls and a sister, Bonna Ellen Sauls. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. Randy Wellford. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Harold's caregivers, Betty and Vivian, and to the staff at the Durham VA Medical Center and The Hospice Home in Burlington for the care and compassion that they provided.
