Harold Martin

Burlington Harold Grey Martin, 85, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Alamance Health Care. He was born in Alamance County to the late Joseph Gordon Hargrove and Myrtle Hargrove Martin and was the husband of 60 years to the late Shirley Whisenant Martin who died December 12, 2012. Harold retired from the US Postal Service, Lab Corp and Alamance County Landfill. He was of the Methodist Faith and US Veteran of the Army Air Corp. Harold was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gordon Lee and Phyllis Martin of Mebane; daughter and fianc, Lori Martin and Keith Morton of Middlesex, NC; grandson, Jonathan Lee Martin; brother, C.E. "Gene" Martin of Burlington; sisters, Ann Burnette and Nancy Stanfield both of Burlington; sisters-in-law, Myrl Martin and Polly Martin, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and brothers, Willard Martin and Patrick "Pat" Martin. The funeral service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Steve Strickland with entombment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30pm to 1:45pm prior to the service.
