Harold Dunn, Sr.

Harold Thomas Dunn Sr. 65 of Elon died on October 10, 2009 at Moses Cone Hospital after a strong but short fight of cancer. Harold was born in Person County, NC on January 18, 1944. He was a devoted husband; he leaves behind his sole mate, wife Eleonore Dunn of the home. They were married for 43 wonderful years. They had three children Patricia Bloodsworth Lamoreaux and her partner Larry, Frances Scott Montgomery, Harold Dunn Jr. and his fiance' Tiffany all of Elon. Harold had six grandchildren, Haylee Dunn and Freddie Lamoreaux II, Wade, Craig, Ryan and Mason Montgomery. He was the son of the late Rube Dunn and Thelma Dunn of Roxboro who survives. His dearest sister-in-law Barbara Heinze Stadler, and Brother-in-law Karl Schroeder all of Germany. Also, his dearest friends Gene and Sylvia Burleson of Greensboro, Nancey Jeffreys of Burlington. His family was his life. He was the best husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. He was proceeded in death by his father Rube Dunn who passed away on October 10, 1976. 33 years before his son. Harold served two years in the US Army and was stationed in Germany where he meet his wife Eleonore. He received his Associates degree at TIA. He worked for Burlington Industries Corporate Headquarters in Greensboro for 32 years as a support analyst. After his job expired with BI he found his second calling in life as a detention officer for Guilford County Sheriff Office, Greensboro. He was proud to work with a great group of officers at the department that became special friends. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2009 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Carl Harper. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery in the town of Elon. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home. The family would like to thank all the nurses and team of doctors on 2300 SICU Department of Moses Cone Hospital. His favorite quote was " your not done, I'm Dunn". Harold was an honorable man.
