Hallie Brown

GIBSONVILLE- Mrs. Hallie Mae Westbrooks Brown, age 84, of 820 Dunntown Rd., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 18, 2012 at her home. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late William and Sarah Westbrooks and was married to the late Lawrence Edward Brown, Jr. for 56 years. She retired from Burlington Industries with after 40 years of service and was a life long member of First United Methodist Church of Elon. Mrs. Brown is survived by her five children, Mary Coleman of Graham, Hilda Martin of Burlington, Margaret Brown of Gibsonville, Jimmy Brown of Durham and Sara Creger of Burlington; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and two brothers, Willard Westbrooks of Burlington and Frank Westbrooks of Mebane. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters, Alice Surber and Etta Westbrooks; and two brothers, Fred Westbrooks and Johnny Westbrooks. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Terry Huffines with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
