Grey Miles

Yanceyville Hazel Grey Underwood Miles, 73, of 2972 Cherry Grove Rd. died Friday, May 18, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She was married to the late William Ervin Miles for 55 years and was born August 3, 1938 in Rockingham County to the late Holt and Hulda Walker Underwood. Grey was a member of Oakview Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Caswell County Home Extension Service for 50 years and she volunteered with Hospice of Alamance-Caswell helping at the Hospice League Annual Flea Market. Grey was a member of the Senior Cleft Singers affiliated with the Caswell County Senior Center. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She is survived by her daughters, Beverly David Hockenberger, Sandra Gibson, Susan Kevin Crabtree, Donna Timmy Pruitt all of Caswell County, grandchildren, Evan Hockenberger, Kaitlyn Hockenberger, Emily Gibson, Megan Robbie Bridges, Drake Crabtree and Justen Pruitt; brothers, Homer, Paul and David Underwood and a sister, Dorothy Rice. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Lois Minson and brothers, Wallace and Horace Underwood. The funeral will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 4:00 pm at Oakview Presbyterian Church officiated by Pastor Bob Hillman and interment will follow in Bethel Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215. Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the Miles family.
