Gregory Tilley

Mebane, NC Gregory "Greg" Thomas Tilley, age 51 passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at his home. He was a native of Alamance County and the son of the late William "Joe" Thomas Tilley and Rose Gilliam Morgan who survives. Greg owned and operated his own business for many years. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors especially fishing and playing golf. He was an avid Tar Heel fan and he loved animals always keeping several pets at his home. Greg was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and son who will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Rose Tilley of Mebane; son, Nathaniel Thomas Tilley of Mebane; grandson, Christian Elijah Barber of Mebane; mother, Rose Gilliam Morgan of Burlington; brothers, Michael Joseph Tilley of Burlington and Bradley Joel Tilley of Elon; sister, Donna Marie Tilley of Burlington; nephews, Ryan Dean Coble of Burlington and Aaron Lee Coble of Graham. He was preceded in death by his father, William Thomas "Joe" Tilley; paternal grandparents, Lewis and Lizzie Tilley and maternal grandparents, Mary G. Welch and John A. Gilliam. A Cryptside service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 11:00 am by Dr. Fred Treadwell at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm on Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of his mother.
