Gray Simmons Cole

    Gray retired from Monarch Hosiery after 42 years. She was a member of Stony Creek Presbyterian Church and served on the building committee. She helped her mother-in-law “Margaret Cole Cheek” organize Crop walks. Gray was president of Lakeview TOPS and volunteered with Hospice of Alamance Caswell for many years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of North Central Volunteer Fire Department. Her and her husband were members of the North Sate Boat Club. Gray enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

   She is survived by her husband, John Roy Cole of the home; sons, Tommy Cole and wife, Crystal and Mike Cole and wife, Melissa; grandchildren, Bethany Goode and husband, Ryan, Chelsea Tart and husband, Chad, Alex Cole, Phillip Cole, Preston Cole and Madison Cole; sister-in-law, Joyce Simmons and Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Doake “Jimmy” Simmons.

   A service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00am, Friday, April 29, 2022 at Stony Creek Presbyterian Church by Rev. Reid Dickens with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
