Grace Raynor Wooten, 91, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was born in Pender County and was the daughter of the late Isaac Edward and Emma Ives Raynor. Grace was the wife of the late Nolen May Wooten of Wooten Appliance Co.
She has been a member at Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church for almost 70 years where she taught Sunday school and worked in the nursery. She had a great sense of humor and was an excellent cook who was known for her pound cakes. Grace was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who truly enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Dennis N. Wooten and his wife, Ann, Jan B. Wooten, Gary K. Wooten and his wife, Carol, Connie W. Baginski and her late husband, James "Jim", Myra W. Kirby and her husband, James; grandchildren, Kelly A. Wooten and her husband, Dale Stearns, Emma Wooten Baltezore and her husband, Allen and Meredith Wooten; great grandchildren, Nolan, Brandon, Willow and Raynor, and a sister, Marie Raynor Warren.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Chaplain Emma Wooten Baltezore and Rev. Jimmy Nickelston with interment to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:45-10:45 Saturday morning prior to the service.
The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to Grace's caregivers, Sheila Worth, Sara Davis, Marilyn Richards and Kelvin Wimbish, for taking such good care of her.
