Grace McClees

Grace King Stephens Hicks McClees, 92, passed away Friday, May 27, 2016 at Twin Lakes Memory Care. She was born in Hickory, Catawba County, NC on October 12, 1923 to the late John Morrison Stephens and Anne Marguerite King Stephens and was the wife to Cecil Carr McClees, Jr. who survives.

Grace retired after many years with Duke University Medical Center, and she was a devoted member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Hillsborough, where she sang in the choir.

Survivors other than her husband, Cecil McClees include her daughter, Peggy Wilkenloh of Atlanta, GA; son, Robert "Rob" Hicks and wife, Wanda of Brunswick, GA; step daughter, Anita Marlin and husband, Deane of Hillsborough; step son, Dr. Eric McClees and wife, Rita of Atlanta, GA; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Robert Sheilds Hicks, Sr., a daughter, Nelle Harmon Burgess, stepchild Charlotte McClees, and step great grandchild Polly Lynn Dawson.

The arrangements are incomplete at this time.
