Burlington - Grace Mae Burch Fuqua, age 96, formerly of S. Beaumont Avenue and more recently of The Oaks of Burlington went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 8, 2007 after four weeks of critical illness. She was a native of Newberry, South Carolina, the wife of the late Fred F. Fuqua and daughter of the late John Coleman and Annie Mae Williams Burch. Grace retired from Burlington Industries, Pioneer Plant, was a longtime member of Glen Hope Baptist Church and the Harper Burke Sunday School Class. Mrs. Fuqua worked as a Pink Lady for over 30 years with the Hospital Auxiliary at ARMC. She truly loved flowers especially when they were in full bloom at springtime. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Sutton Price and her husband Robert Price of Burlington, son, James C. Jimmy Fuqua and his wife Judy of Climax; grandchildren, Randall Scott Sutton of Burlington, Tammy F. Gilliam and her husband Tod of Burlington, Jenifer L. Sutton of Frederick, MD; great grandchildren, Nicholas and Chelsea Gilliam; brother, Rev. Bernice O. Burch of Christiansburg, VA; and special friend, Mae Walton of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, Mrs. Bert Foster, Mrs. Margaret Underwood, Mrs. Lillian Storey and brothers, Mr. John W. Burch, Mr. Paul R. Burch and Mr. George C. Burch. The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Glen Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Bob Stephenson and Dr. Tommy Willis with interment to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the daughters home, Barbara Price, 953 Kimberly Rd. Burlington.
