Gloria Deen Sessoms Reese, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 with her family by her side at the Hospice Home of Alamance. She was born August 6, 1935, in Scotland County to the late Clifton Bogue and Mary Beatrice Sweatt Sessoms.
Gloria worked most of her career in retail. She was a woman of many talents. Gloria was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and great great grandmother. Gloria was a very giving person and loved playing cards, puzzles and singing gospel songs. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church and read her Bible quite often. She enjoyed angels, birds, roses and spending time with her family.
Gloria is survived by her daughters: Debbie Foster and husband, Mike, Deloris Barnes and husband, Ronnie; son, Bobby Mauldin and wife, Lisa; many grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved her very much; brother, Jimmy Waite; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Don Reese; daughter, Rebecca Thrift; sons: Mitchell Mauldin and Gary Mauldin; sister, Lennie Mae Goins and a brother, James Everette Sessoms.
The celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm Monday, May 16, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. John Thrift. The family will receive friends one hour prior from 1:00pm to 2:00pm Monday, May 16, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
