Glenn Mayfield "Billy" Hutcherson, 84, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the Hospice Home surrounded by his family after one week of critical illness. He was born in Henry County, VA to the late Harvey Lee "H.L." Hutcherson and Alvie Clara Dillan Hutcherson and was the husband to Emmogene Parker Hutcherson of 64 years who survives. Billy retired from J.H. Mason Company after 15 years of service and was a former employee with Somers Auto Parts. He was a member of Harvest Hills Church of God, where he was a head usher, assistant Sunday School Superintendent and he was a veteran of the US Air Force serving in the Korean War. Billy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to many and will be missed dearly. Survivors other than his wife, Emmogene include his daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and Chris Willis, Evelyn and James "Buck" George; sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Pat Hutcherson, Jr., Gary Hutcherson, David "Hutch" and Penny Hutcherson; 20 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mildred Ellington and brother, Alvin Harvey Hutcherson. The funeral service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Harvest Hills Church by Dr. Russell Morris with burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum with military honors provided by the US Air Force. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7pm Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the daughter, Theresa Willis' home in Burlington.
