Glenda Gover

Glenda Allen Gover, age 87 of Mebane, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Duke University Medical Center surrounded by family. She was born in Burlington, NC on a snowy day on January 17, 1935 to the late William Gilbert Allen and the late Mary Cole Allen and was the wife of 55 years to the late Jimmie Lee Gover, Sr.

Glenda attended Pine Top School and was employed by Burlington Industries and Meredith Web Printing before choosing to dedicate her life to her six children who made up the entirety of her world.   She was a woman of many talents which included upholstering furniture, sewing, and being a wonderful cook all of which she performed with love for her family.  Glenda was an avid softball pitcher well into her 40's which she also enjoyed playing on teams with her daughters.

Glenda is survived by her six children, Myra Manuli of Mebane, Gary Edmonds (Cindy) of Graham, Donna Gover of Snow Camp, Jimmie Gover, Jr. (Missy) of Reidsville, Billy Gover of Burlington, and Bobby Gover of Mebane; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gladys Gover (Buddy) of Burlington. Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, parents and son-in-law, Phil Manuli.

The funeral will be held at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel at 2 pm, Sunday, February 20, 2022 by Pastor Pete Beck III with the interment to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the Myra’s home.
